FAQs

Yes! We work with most major insurance providers. We offer free no-obligation insurance benefit checks for those who are interested in our program. Our treatment advisors will speak with your insurer, get a detailed verification of your insurance benefits, and share those details with you. Unfortunately medicaid and medicare do not cover our facility.

Guests who come to stay at The Plymouth House need to be physically detoxified from alcohol and drugs before they arrive at our campus. We highly recommend individuals DO NOT try to get sober on their own, but rather detox at a professional medical detox facility where withdrawal symptoms can be monitored. Withdrawal can be dangerous — even life threatening. While The Plymouth House does not offer detox services ourselves, we do have wonderful relationships with detox facilities in the area and are happy to help you get admitted. Then, once you are physically sober from addictive substances, we will help with the transition into our facility. Once here, you will have access to a doctor and psychiatrist who can prescribe any necessary medication you need to maintain your health and sobriety.

Program lengths vary on a case-by-case basis but generally our Residential Inpatient Program lasts approximately 2 weeks, while our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is 2-4 weeks. Guests must complete Residential Inpatient before moving on to PHP. Our optional Extended Care Program and volunteer Monitor Program are typically around 3 months.

Often traveling out of your home town is the best option for treatment. The temptation to leave early or experience relapse triggers is much lower when you are away from the people and places you associate with your substance abuse. The Plymouth House offers a complimentary car service for individuals within a few hours drive who are interested in coming to the program. If needed we can also help you book a flight and transportation to/from the airport so that you can safely and comfortably reach our facility.

Our admissions process is quick and easy. Once you call us, one of our experienced Treatment Advisors will perform a brief pre-assessment. This takes about 10 minutes and will help you determine if The Plymouth House is the best fit for you or your loved one. After the assessment we will verify insurance benefits and arrange a time for your intake. The Plymouth House does not offer medical detox services, but we are happy to help you arrange for a medical detox before transferring to our facility. We have excellent working relationships with multiple medical detox centers in the area, and in other states. Once you have been safely detoxed, we will help you transition into our program. If you need a ride to the facility we will dispatch one of our drivers to pick you up and you will begin your recovery at our facility.

We encourage family members to be involved in their loved one’s treatment process. We host a Family Workshop and have regular visiting hours with the following stipulations:

  • We ask that visitors be limited to family members and those instrumental to the recovery of our guests.
  • All visitors must sign in at the main office upon arrival and at departure.
  • Visitors may bring dogs but they must be leashed and well-mannered.
  • Any items visitors bring to guests must first be inspected and approved by staff.
  • Visitors are not allowed in the guest rooms or lounges.

We don’t provide numeric success rates, as we feel they are usually misleading and the methods used to gather them have both questionable internal and external validity. Addiction is a complex and multifaceted problem, and success in treating it should be represented by a genuine increase in quality of life. We are confident that the practices we teach are effective, when they are practiced. Many members of our sizeable alumni community have well over a decade of sobriety, and every year our annual alumni weekend brings many hundreds of Plymouth House alumni back home to where it all began.

Many of our guests arrive at The Plymouth House with both an addiction problem and mental health issues. Our experience has taught us that often, mental health issues can’t be successfully addressed until a guest has some sobriety under their belt. Learn more about our dual diagnosis program here.
